Sport Is Art Exhibit / Shanghai & Tokyo 2011
I was asked to take part in NIKE'S Sport Is Art exhibit in the Summer of 2011. Much of the work was based in that sweet spot where Sport meets the rest of our lives. It is an area I find endlessly rich and interesting because there are no hard lines.
"Drawing both cultural influences and individual creativity, artists from the 5 continents lend their talents to the project. From the US, there is Jared Nickerson, Anthony Harrison, Denis Kegler, Leah Sheely, and Jeff Proctor. They are joined by England's Lain MacArthur, Kelvin Govey, Brazilian creative type Matheus Lopes, Spain's own Vasava, Tony Ariawan hailed from Indonesia, and finally the Canadian/German duo only known as EBOY. In ways, this collection is more than just collaborative apparel, but more of a wearable artworks highlighting up and coming individuals. The collection is currently available at Shanghai's KIN and soon to be launch at select Nike Sportswear retail location".
